Hi folks. We are pleased to be part of the Sun Lakes Chamber of Commerce. I'd like to share with you who we are and what we do. If you're ever looking for a charity to donate, volunteer please contact us. It's a relationship you won't regret. Also, for all you Facebookers out there. Find us on Facebook. Mission and Vision At Paz de Cristo, we believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Paz de Cristo serves those in need with a daily evening meal service and the provision of food boxes through the collaboration with many dedicated volunteers. We also provide community referrals to housing and medical care and offer preparation for meaningful work. Project Description The Daily Evening Meal service operates 365 days a year and is the only program of its kind in the East Valley and because of it many individuals do not go to bed hungry. In 2009, over 100,000 daily evening meals were provided to more than 85,000 individuals. Paz de Cristo is licensed through the state of Arizona to serve 250 individuals daily. On most nights, we are at capacity of individuals and some of these individuals dine more than once at our facility. The value of our five course meal is $3.90 The Food Box program provides nutritional, emergency relief to families in need. In 2009 this program distributed 20,629 emergency food boxes to families to serve a total number of 87,688. Each food box is intended to sustain a family of four for five days. Each food box weighs approximately 60 pounds and is valued at $65.
